Workforce Solutions Unit (WSU)
The Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR), Workforce Solutions Unit (WSU), is responsible for providing administrative support to the GWIB Industry Sector Councils, such as coordinating with each Council in the preparation of their meeting agendas, the distribution of the agenda, meeting minutes and other materials; providing information regarding Nevadan youth initiatives and ensuring youth initiatives are represented in the goals of each Council; and assisting each Council in seeking and applying for public and private resources to support the sector’s work and projects for job training and education programs.
The WSU encourages collaborative private and public partnerships to support Nevada’s statewide industry sector initiative. In addition, the WSU implements the policies, goals and activities approved by the Councils, and ensure the Councils adhere to the GWIB Industry Sector Council Bylaws, as well as Nevada’s Open Meeting Laws.
